buzz cut
coach steve gave the boys buzz cuts after practice this week. one of the players on the team cut off his long hair and had his # put in the back. the coaches picked up on it and suggested they all do it before the next game. most of them thought it was awesome an did it. cole said it would make him run faster.
football is definately BOY WORLD!!
i love what it does for cole and that daryl coaches is beyond awesome for their relationship.
i am a proud football and cheer mom :)
Beee Ball
caden's favorite words at 20 months are: BEEE ball, base ball, foot ball, blasket ball (not a typo). if i tried to count how many times he says something about a ball in a day, i would lose count in the first hour.
he also says, "thak thoo" every time he hands me something. he says that countless times in a day.
if he is quiet it means he has climbed up onto the glass kitchen table or climbed onto my bed (i have since moved the trunk) or made it into the bedroom and is pulling the wipes out one by one.
he was in the playroom the other day yelling, "STUCK, STUCK" (which is helpful that he knows that word) and he had climbed into the baby doll high chair and couldn't get out.
he has brought so much joy to our family.
i love that what i "have to do" in a day is mainly take care of and play with him! i am blessed. 2 random stangers (older ladies) have stopped me in the last week and said, what a great time of life & what a precious boy. i agree and i cherish every moment.
hugs from family and friends
what a wonderful night!
we were joined by family and friends. both sets of grandparents came in town. kristen's K teacher and her current 1st grade teacher from Faith came. kristen sewell (kristen's old BSF teacher) came. marty and bob were there, uncle jeff came (even though both of his kids were sick, that meant alot) and tons of friends were there.
thank you marty for taking pictures (i can't wait to see them) and a HUGE thank you goes to Bob for chasing an extremely tired and hungry one year old around for most of the night so our family could focus on kristen :) we love u, Bob!
Kristen's Baptism, Sept 20, 2008
when they baptize u they say,
i baptize u my sister in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit
because of the decision you have made to follow Jesus
buried with Him in death, arise and walk in new life
(or something close to that).
it symbolizes the death and resurrection of Jesus and the commitment to a new life in Him.
not free of sin but free from the punishment of sin (separation from God when we die).
i pray kristen will have a clear memory of her decision. know it was real even though she was young. and commit to grow closer to Jesus as she grows older & has more and more understanding of His ways.
Nanny's cross
Daryl's mom gave me a crystal cross that was her mom's (nanny) when cole was baptized. Nanny died before Kristen was born. I wore it when Cole was baptized and Kristen, also.
a godly heritage and upbringing is such a blessing. i pray daryl and i will be good examples and model a real faith to our children.
God's Team
i love the God's team shirt they get to be baptized. it says it all!
kristen's friends james, maegan and kortland were baptized on the same night. we have been friends with those families for 10 plus years. our kids have grown up together. james and kristen go to school together. they get along better than any two kids i have ever seen. they are such sweet friends. i pray their friendship will last a lifetime. if we arranged marriages....

Joy in Christ
There is such joy in Christ.
such freedom in knowing that God is real. there is a truth source (the Bible). there is a GOOD God out there and He cares for each one of His children. He has an amazing plan for each of us & we can know Him and hear His voice.
it makes life worth living.
Christ Rising
cool statue of the risen Christ.
so what does Christ rising have to do with being a Christian?
part of "praying the prayer" to become a Christian is believing that God raised Jesus from the dead like the Bible says. Jesus didn't go unconscious or fake death. He really died. After 3 days, He really did appear again on earth.
That proved that life after death is real. There is more beyond when we die.
however, in order to experience life in heaven after death, we must believe the Bible & what Jesus said in it, "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father but through Me." John 14:6
pre-baptism shots
photo shoot at church before the baptism
in the Bible it says to be baptized after you accept what Jesus did for you when He died and rose again
daddy's love
there is nothing like a daddy's love.
especially for a little girl.
it reaches to the core of our need to be loved that God gave us. i have heard it said that people perception of God is based on their perception of their own father, whether that be loving, permissive, authoritative, abusive, etc.
thankfully, kristen has a Daddy that thinks she is the most incredible princess in the world and she has a Heavenly Daddy that loves her even more than that.
"see, i have loved you with an everlasting love" Jeremiah 31:3
leadership
cole played a huge part as kristen's older brother in her accepting Christ as her Savior. he was there that day at lunch when she prayed the prayer to ask Jesus to forgive her sins and thanked Him for taking her punishment.
i pray all the time for their relationship. we teach the kids that they are each other's best friends & we expect them to act like it.
i pray they will always rely on each other for wise counsel and they will always point each other to Jesus by their words, actions and advice.
they will be a huge influence on Caden since he is so much younger.
i praise the Lord that they are rooted in Him.
consider the cross
we all have to consider the cross.
is it a made up story that a man who was God died on a cross as a sacrifice for all?
or is it true that God made a way of redeption for anyone who believes?
Christians say it is true and believing in Christ's death and resurrection is the way to heaven and eternal life.
others say it is not true and are offended at the suggestion that there would be one way to God.
what do u say?
