what a precious smile! i love the sweet innocence of girls this age. they still want to be a princess when they grow up and marry their daddy. they still love twirly dresses and shoes that make tap sounds. enjoy these years. they pass too quickly!

we had so much fun this morning at the frisco horse park http://www.friscohorsepark.com/ we were down on the farm for sure (peacocks, chickens, horses, sheep, cowboys, goats).
the girls had a blast and took some precious shots.

p.s. now i know why they wear boots and not tennis shoes on the farm...

First Day of School

The first day of school! new backpacks and water bottles, new uniforms and school supplies, new teachers, football & cheer practices, homework! it's all here.

amid the chaos, i have to remind myself to savor the moments. that's why i love photography, i allows me to freeze the moment so i can reflect.

cole is junior high now so he changes classes at the bell & has a locker. he has PE first period so he gets to go to school in gym clothes. then he showers and changes into his uniform. lots of responsibility. kristen is growing up right before my eyes. i have a strong desire to slow it down! caden is just all of two right now. he will be in total shock not having his brother and sister to play with all day & i will miss their help!

Prayer Walk at School

it was so awesome to be in the dark, empty halls before school praying for the kids and teachers. we prayed for one of our teachers (a single mom) that has cancer and will be going to chemo while teaching this year and for a couple of family situations we know of. we prayed for the new kids and for the Holy Spirit to fill the halls and take over the school. i know God is going to do great things at Faith this year. http://www.grapevinefaith.com/

Hair Session

here are a few of my favorites from my last session with a precious 10 year old, amanda. what i loved about her was her innocence. she was just a sweet child. i could tell her mommy hasn't rushed to make her older than she is, but has worked to protect her childhood. if i could have a soapbox about keeping girls in this generation pure and innocent :)

they will grow up soon enough. miss amanda, you are a precious child of God, beautiful inside and out.
